Sixpence Coin (6d)
Sixpences or Tanners as they used to be known are a well-known symbol of good luck whether it be an ingredient in the Christmas pudding, or being part of the brides ‘Something Old, Something New’ tradition, and it remains an RAF tradition to this day that sixpences are sewn behind pilot’s wings on their uniform. The sixpence design has changed three times since 1930 with each monarch’s reign. From 1926 to 1936 they featured a design of six oak sprigs divided by six acorns, 1937 to 1952 featured a crown royal cypher, and from 1953 onwards they displayed a floral design of a rose, thistle, shamrock and leek.
We make jewellery from Sixpence coins minted between 1930 to 1970.
Colour finish: Silver. Diameter: 19.4mm.

Coin keyrings make perfect gifts because everyone has a set of keys! Keys normally accompany life’s biggest purchases, maybe the recipient of your gift has purchased a new car or home recently and would like a keyring for their new keys.
They are also a sentimental gift which are often given as personalised wedding favours.
Why gift Coin Keyrings?
Coin keyrings make unique ‘born in 1960 gifts’ or ‘married in 1960 gifts’.
1960 64th Birthday Gifts
These keyrings make the best 64th birthday gifts, for a couple of reasons:
For birthdays, the coins used are exactly as old as the recipient who was born in 1960, therefore are a meaningful and thoughtful present. In addition, older coins often bring back memories of the ‘good old days’ and lots of conversations about happy childhoods are evoked by seeing the ‘old money’ once again.
1960 64th Anniversary Gifts
Are you or your partner, friend or relative celebrating 60 years of marriage? Show them how much you love them with these personalised keyrings which make a wonderful Wedding Anniversary gift. Maybe a keyring each would make a fitting 64th anniversary gift for a special couple?
For anniversaries, the coins used were minted in the same year as their vowels were exchanged in 1960, the coins have stood the test of time just like any loving marriage.
In Memory Jewellery
Like the increasingly popular ‘Ashes Jewellery,’ our jewellery can also poignantly signify the birth year and memory of a loved one that has now passed away, such as a parent, grandparent or in memory of your friend. A touching and subtle way to always have them ‘with you’.
