Luxury Coin Rings
Quite obviously coin rings are rings made from coins! From sterling silver rings made from Silver Sixpences to bronze Victorian One Pennies handcrafted in to rings, we have a ring made from a coin minted in a year that is sentimental to you. Were you, your parents or grandparents born or married between 1901 and 1967? If so, we can handmake you an alternative wedding ring or alternative engagement ring from a coin minted in your meaningful year.
We create handmade rings out of coins such as: Sixpences, Farthings, Halfpenny’s, One Penny’s, Threepences, One Shillings, Two Shillings, Florins, Half Crowns, Crowns in a variety of full and half sizes and with a high shine polish or a dark patina to bring out the incredible details in the coin.
How are coin rings made?
- We carefully select the highest quality coins to make your coin rings from.
- The centre of the coin is then removed depending on how wide the finished ring will be.
- The coin is heated to soften the metal and over many hours of hard work the ‘sides’ are painstakingly turned from a flat coin into a ring.
- The ring is cleaned, polished (or dark patina added to pick out its intricate details) and final quality checks are carried out.
Why buy our handmade coin rings?
Reason 1: You can choose the date on the coin.
Reason 2: Coin rings make excellent alternative wedding rings/bands for those trying to decide on what wedding ring they want to wear forevermore! Customers are often looking for a meaningful wedding ring rather than just a generic (dare we say boring ?!) standard wedding band. Our alternative rings are meaningful as they represent special dates in their wearer’s lives.
Reason 3: As well as wedding rings, these rings also make sentimental, alternative engagement rings or bands.
Reason 4: You won’t find any higher quality coins rings than those made my expert jewellers at Heads and Tails Jewellery. Coin rings are often made badly by amateurs with rings turning out wonky, the wrong side and just generally bashed about in the making process.
In short, each of our rings (and other coin jewellery) gives the wearer the opportunity to own and wear a piece of real history. Think of the incredible journey that one coin might have been on during it long life. It might have been in the hands of the famous, been used to buy items such as a newspaper with headlines telling of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, or to buy flowers for a soldiers sweetheart as he went off to war. Been in someone’s pay packet, been flipped to make important, life changing decisions. All this rich history is now encapsulated forever, in your very own coin ring. If only the ring could tell you its own story.

Are you looking for a diamond alternative engagement ring or a
unique engagement ring which is non-traditional?
Most of our rings are UK coin rings, but we can make rings from pretty much any coin that does not contain nickel due to its adverse effects on the skin. This means we can happily make rings from your own coins or source coins from around the world and handmake them into a bespoke piece of jewellery for you.
