Fifty Pence Coins (50p)
There have been two sizes of 50p’s produced by the Royal Mint. The older, larger 50p’s (1969-1994) featured an image of a seated Britannia alongside a lion, holding an olive branch in her left hand and a trident in her right hand.
There were not any 50p coins minted between 1994 and 1997. After September 1997, the smaller 50p displayed the same Britannia design as the large 50p, and was minted until the Royal Shield design was adopted in 2008. There have been many fun designs depicted on 50p’s over the years: 1973 EEC 50p, 1994 D-Day Landings 50p, and the very sort after 2009 Kew Gardens 50p. Many people collect 50p coins just for their special designs.
We make jewellery from Fifty Pence coins minted from 1969 onwards.
Colour finish: Silver. Diameter: 30mm and 27.3mm.

Coin keyrings make perfect gifts because everyone has a set of keys! Keys normally accompany life’s biggest purchases, maybe the recipient of your gift has purchased a new car or home recently and would like a keyring for their new keys.
They are also a sentimental gift which are often given as personalised wedding favours.
Why gift Coin Keyrings?
Coin keyrings make unique ‘born in 1969 gifts’ or ‘married in 1969 gifts’.
1969 55th Birthday Gifts
These keyrings make the best 55th birthday gifts, for a couple of reasons:
For birthdays, the coins used are exactly as old as the recipient who was born in 1969, therefore are a meaningful and thoughtful present. In addition, older coins often bring back memories of the ‘good old days’ and lots of conversations about happy childhoods are evoked by seeing the ‘old money’ once again.
1969 55th Anniversary Gifts
Are you or your partner, friend or relative celebrating 60 years of marriage? Show them how much you love them with these personalised keyrings which make a wonderful Wedding Anniversary gift. Maybe a keyring each would make a fitting 55th anniversary gift for a special couple?
For anniversaries, the coins used were minted in the same year as their vowels were exchanged in 1969, the coins have stood the test of time just like any loving marriage.
In Memory Jewellery
Like the increasingly popular ‘Ashes Jewellery,’ our jewellery can also poignantly signify the birth year and memory of a loved one that has now passed away, such as a parent, grandparent or in memory of your friend. A touching and subtle way to always have them ‘with you’.
Have now purchased a number of cuff links and keyrings as gifts for friends. All have arrived as described, on time and in good condition. All have been very well received.
Great selection of gifts ,good prices and excellent prices
My key ring arrived on time and I am very pleased with it indeed. A novel idea for a personal gift.
Great quality item and great quality service! Wouldn’t hesitate to buy from again.
I bought this item back in July for my wife’s 50th birthday. She was so delighted with it being a 50 pence and having the 1969 date on it. So it was only 2 weeks ago that she put it on a key today it came apart. Heads and Tails Jewellery were excellent and replacement my wife’s key ring right away. Thank you very much.
Absolutely love it! Fast delivery! Good quality! Exactly the same as picture and description
£24.99 for a keyring that broke after 2 days of normal use. The metal loop, which seems to be very flimsily attached, came off making it useless as a keyring. It’s now a very expensive 50p coin.Update – Heads and Tails Jewellery got back to me very quickly and offered to send a replacement with a complimentary set of cufflinks. I have therefore upped my star rating of them to 4 for their customer service, not 5 due to the initial disappointment with the gift breaking.
This was a gift for my sister and she was delighted. Thank you!
Perfect gift for my brother who is turning 50. Very nice packaging. Thank you.
Excellent customer service. Gift was lost in post but replacement was sent out immediately. nNice novelty for my wife who collects 50p pieces. This one from the year of her birth.
