Sixpence Coin (6d)
Sixpences or Tanners as they used to be known are a well-known symbol of good luck whether it be an ingredient in the Christmas pudding, or being part of the brides ‘Something Old, Something New’ tradition, and it remains an RAF tradition to this day that sixpences are sewn behind pilot’s wings on their uniform. The sixpence design has changed three times since 1930 with each monarch’s reign. From 1926 to 1936 they featured a design of six oak sprigs divided by six acorns, 1937 to 1952 featured a crown royal cypher, and from 1953 onwards they displayed a floral design of a rose, thistle, shamrock and leek.
We make jewellery from Sixpence coins minted between 1930 to 1970.
Colour finish: Silver. Diameter: 19.4mm.

- Dad, Husband, Boyfriend, Sons, Brothers, Grandads, Grandsons, Nephews, Uncles, Step-Father, Groom, Groomsmen and of course friends.
When to buy Coin Tie Pins:
They are regularly worn and gifted on occasions such as:
- Birthdays, Anniversaries, Weddings, Father’s Day, Christmas, Graduations, Formal Balls, Proms, Christenings, Retirements, ‘just because’ or in memory at funerals.
Whether you, or the recipient, are a tie pin connoisseur or you just need a pin to keep that pesky tie from moving and keep it looking dapper, these pins (aka pin brooches) make the perfect ‘born in 1958 gifts’ or ‘married in 1958 gifts’. These tie pins are regularly worn to the office or to make a good impression at that interview you’ve worked so hard towards.
They are also a sentimental gift also worn by thousands of nervous grooms at the altar with a year special to them on full display.
Whilst predominately tie pins are perceived as a gift for men, we have an unprecedented number of ladies creatively wearing these 1958 birth year tie pins as brooches and hat pins etc.
1958 66th Birthday Gifts
These tie pins make the best 66th birthday gifts, for a couple of reasons:
For birthdays, the coins used are exactly as old as the recipient who was born in 1958, therefore are a meaningful and thoughtful present. In addition, older coins often bring back memories of the ‘good old days’ and lots of conversations about happy childhoods are evoked by seeing the ‘old money’ once again.
1958 66th Anniversary Gifts
Are you or your partner, husband, friend or relative celebrating 66th years of marriage? Show them how much you love them with these personalised tie pins, which make a wonderful Wedding Anniversary gift.
In Memory Jewellery
Like the increasingly popular ‘Ashes Jewellery’, our jewellery can also poignantly signify the birth year of a loved one that has now passed away. Keep them close by subtly wearing their birth year on your tie, in the office, or anywhere you need to wear a tie. A touching way to have them ‘with you’ and close to your heart on your wedding day.
Excellent product and customer service. The best golden lapel pin that I have found on the Internet, and great price.
Received a wrong item (silver coin in golden pin), I notified it by email and received the replacement in 2 days.
